This Course Is Required Yearly for Security!
Our 8 Hour Annual In-Service Security Training Course is taught in Deer Park by our New York State DCJS Certified instructors. The 8 Hour Annual In-Service Course is designed to refresh and cement important concepts in being a security guard. New York State requires that NYS registered security guards must take this course every calendar year. Since the registration is valid for two years, this course must be completed twice between the date of issuance and date of expiration to be considered for registration renewal.
This course is offered as a one-day course or broken up over two weekday evenings. NOTE: This is NOT the pre-assignment security training course, the annual training is for security guards who are already registered with New York State.
Course Outline:
Role of the Security Guard Legal Powers and Limitations Emergency Situations Communications and Public Relations Access Control Report Writing Ethics and Conduct CPR / AED Upon completion of this course, participants will be issued a Certificate of Completion. This certificate must be submitted to the NYS Department of State for registration renewal. All materials will be provided for this course.
What You Will Need
Feel free to bring food to class. (NOTE: If the course is split into two days/evenings, BOTH days/evenings MUST be completed in order to be eligible to receive a certificate of completion!) Please schedule yourself to arrive by 15 minutes before class to allow time for you to check in and complete paperwork.
Refund Policy: Failure to come to class on the date the class is given will result in a loss of payment unless you give a 24-hour notice to reschedule. We will be happy to credit your payment to another class. This applies to the first 2 reschedules. No refunds will be issued.

An Interactive Learning Experience
Guardian Guns & Ammo provides an instructor-led, hands-on learning environment that encourages active participation throughout the full 47-hour course. Rather than relying solely on presentation slides, instructors use guided discussion, participant questions, practical demonstrations, and essential firearms-safety principles. This interactive approach helps students understand course requirements, apply safe handling practices, and build practical knowledge with direct instructor guidance. Each course is taught by law enforcement firearms instructors who are qualified through the NRA and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

Day 1 of the course will be at 940 Grand Blvd., Deer Park 11729.
Day 2 through Day 6 will be at Nassau County Pistol Rifle Range.
