Your Next Step of Security Training
Newly hired security guards in New York State must complete the 16 Hour On-The-Job Training (OJT) course within 90 days of employment. At Guardian Security Training in Deer Park, NY, our New York State DCJS-certified instructors teach this required course in a professional, hands-on classroom setting serving security professionals across Long Island, Suffolk County, and Nassau County.
This course runs over multiple dates. You must attend and complete every session to receive your Certificate of Completion.
Please arrive at least 20 minutes before class so you have time to check in and complete your paperwork.

An Interactive Learning Experience
Guardian Guns & Ammo provides an instructor-led, hands-on learning environment that encourages active participation throughout the full 18-hour course. Rather than relying solely on presentation slides, instructors use guided discussion, participant questions, practical demonstrations, and essential firearms-safety principles. This interactive approach helps students understand course requirements, apply safe handling practices, and build practical knowledge with direct instructor guidance. Each course is taught by law enforcement firearms instructors who are qualified through the NRA and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
